Café Littéraire – Port-Louis
The perfect place to go for a warm cuppa, fine cuisine and a good French book! The Café Littéraire is a conceptual café where the love of literature joins that of food. Those who are on the lookout for an original setting to have lunch, or coffee with a buddy will enjoy this place. On the menu are salads, risotto, venison curry, savoury pies, and exquisite desserts. Izumi – Port Chambly
Genuine, melt-in-your-mouth Japanese food is hard to find in Mauritius. Izumi will satisfy your sushi and Teppanyaki cravings. As the Japanese would say, Itadakimasu! An ideal place for social dining. The fact that it is located in the Riviera-like region of Port Chambly adds to the magic. It is advised to book in advance if you wish to eat there, as tables can be reserved for the attached hotel’s guests.

Its Mediterranean cuisine is subtly heightened with elements of Mauritian flavours, and the blissful setting adds to the overall experience. This place is truly a pearl of Mauritian cuisine.

 

Eat with Fingers – Grand Baie
This is the only entirely vegan place in Mauritius. Located on Chemin Vingt Pieds in Grand Baie, the place is warm and cosy, just like the owners. Housemade and healthy food, available for take away to eat on the beach, the place is suitable for lactose and gluten intolerant as well.
