Natural blowhole that shoots water high into the air
Le Souffleur (The Blower) is a spectacular natural blowhole located on the wild southern coast of Mauritius. When waves crash into the volcanic rock formations, water is forced through narrow channels and shoots dramatically into the air.
This natural phenomenon is most impressive during high tide and when the sea is rough, with water spouts reaching heights of up to 20 meters. The surrounding cliffs and wild coastline add to the dramatic atmosphere.
Le Souffleur is located near the village of L'Escalier and offers a glimpse of the powerful forces that shaped Mauritius' volcanic landscape over millions of years.
