Caverne Patate

Caverne Patate is a famous speleological site located on Rodrigues Island, the sister island of Mauritius. This natural wonder features impressive stalactites and stalagmites that have formed over thousands of years.

The cave stretches over 1000 meters long, with an average ceiling height of about 20 meters making it more accessible than other caves. In the light of electric torches, you'll discover amazing shapes sculpted in rock - from fish to witches, the interpretations vary from person to person.

By venturing into this cave, you can descend below sea level, more than 100 meters underground through natural faults. A carved stone staircase provides easy access to the interior.
