Roadtrip South

Scenic south coast

The south coast of Mauritius is where dramatic cliffs, waterfalls, and historic villages meet the Indian Ocean. This route takes you from the iconic Le Morne peninsula and Chamarel Waterfall through the refined Chateau de Bel Ombre and the wild Natural Bridge to the bustling village of Mahebourg and the crystal waters of Blue Bay—a full day of contrasts and postcard views.

Drive from west to east at a relaxed pace, stop for lunch or afternoon tea at the Chateau, and leave time for snorkeling or a glass-bottom boat trip at Blue Bay. The south coast is one of the most scenic stretches on the island.
