The beach at La Preneuse is one of those west-coast places where the experience comes from the setting rather than a long list of activities. Located in the Black River area, between Tamarin and the routes leading towards Le Morne, it combines a quiet shoreline, working fishing boats, history and wide views across the lagoon.
Its defining landmark is the Martello Tower, a British defensive structure built in the 19th century.
