Le Souffleur Mauritius | Wild South Coast Blowhole and Natural Coastal Wonder

SouthHideawaysNature

Discover Le Souffleur in Mauritius, a dramatic natural blowhole on the wild south coast known for powerful waves, volcanic rocks, coastal scenery and one of the island’s most impressive hidden viewpoints.

Le Souffleur is one of the most dramatic natural attractions on the wild south coast of Mauritius. Located near L’Escalier and Savinia, this hidden coastal spot is famous for its powerful natural blowhole, where ocean waves crash into volcanic rock formations and force seawater high into the air. The result is a spectacular display of raw ocean power, especially when the sea is strong. Unlike the calm lagoon beaches Mauritius is famous for, Le Souffleur shows a wilder and more untamed side of the island. The coastline here is rugged, open and full of natural energy, making it a beautiful place for photography, sightseeing and adventurous road trips. It is not a swimming spot, and visitors should always keep a safe distance from the rocks and waves. As a local, I would recommend visiting Le Souffleur as part of a wild south road trip, combining it with Pont Naturel, La Cambuse, Ruines de Savinia, Gris Gris, La Roche qui Pleure and Souillac. The access road can be rough, so it is better to visit with a guide or someone familiar with the area. Come for the views, the sound of the waves and the unforgettable feeling of Mauritius’ wild south coast.
